At MiFa Music & Art School, we offer personalized training in classical and traditional music and art. Whether you’re preparing for the Royal Conservatory, composing your own music, or exploring visual arts like painting and calligraphy, we focus on what you want to learn. Our passionate instructors believe in the joy of creativity while building strong technical skills.
Though we’ve grown from our small beginnings, we remain a locally run school connected to the North Shore. We take pride in fostering a supportive environment where students of all ages and abilities can enjoy learning and reach their full potential.

Piano/Violin:: Monday to Friday
Peyman is the Founder and Director of MiFa Music & Art School, with over 25 years of teaching experience. His main focus is violin and piano, especially with intermediate and advanced students.
He helps students prepare for RCM exams, university entrance auditions, and music competitions. He is also a former member of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Kids/Guitar/Handpan:: Sunday to Thursday
Arsam is a singer and musician with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the music industry. He plays a key role in MiFa’s children’s music classes, bringing energy, creativity, and care to young learners.
He also teaches voice and plays a wide range of instruments, including classical and electric guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, and handpan.
Arsam has performed with various traditional, pop, rock, and flamenco groups, and continues to stay active in the local music scene.

Piano/ Choir :: Tuesday, Friday & Saturday
Jules is a Vancouver-based musician with a Bachelor of Music degree and Kodály Teacher Training Certificate from the University of Alberta, a Conducting in Music Certificate from Capilano University, and a Master of Music degree and Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College.
They began piano at age seven and later expanded their studies into conducting and composition.
Since 2010, Jules has been teaching students of different ages and levels in piano, music theory, aural skills, chamber music, and choir.

Piano :: Sunday to Thursday
Rira is a piano teacher who graduated from the Tehran Conservatory of Music in 2009 and has been teaching piano ever since. She is also certified in Elementary Piano Pedagogy through the Royal Conservatory of Music.
During her studies, she worked with Professor Clara Bokuchava, whose guidance helped deepen her understanding of music theory, history, and classical piano.
At MiFa, Rira enjoys working with elementary and intermediate students, helping them build a strong foundation, confidence, and a love for music.

Piano :: Monday & Saturday
Judy is a piano teacher with a Master of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University. She also holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, with piano pedagogy training during her undergraduate studies.
She focuses on helping students build strong foundational piano skills, learning confidence, and a love for music. Her teaching approach is simple, positive, and encouraging.
At MiFa, Judy enjoys supporting each student’s unique learning style while helping them grow in confidence, musical understanding, and creativity.

Piano :: Friday & Sunday
Medya is a passionate piano teacher based in North Vancouver. They hold an Elementary Piano Teacher Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music and are currently studying Music with a piano major at the University of British Columbia, where they received a scholarship for academic excellence.
Medya has over 10 years of experience in piano performance and previously studied at Tehran Music School. They have participated in various ensembles and choirs, with performances at venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Orpheum Theatre, and the Chan Centre.
At MiFa, Medya teaches piano, music theory, and children’s music classes. They are also involved with the art side of the school, bringing creativity, care, and a supportive approach to each student’s learning journe

Piano :: Wedensday
Pianist and educator with experience teaching students of all ages, especially young beginners. Certified in Elementary Piano Pedagogy through the Royal Conservatory of Music, Rabi focuses on building a strong musical foundation through creative, student-centered lessons.
She encourages musical expression, solid technique, and a lifelong love for piano. She has performed in solo and group performances and remains active in the local music scene. Teaching is not just a profession—it’s her passion.

Piano :: Thursday
Samaneh is a pianist and educator with nearly 13 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels, with a special focus on young learners.
She graduated from the Tehran Conservatory of Music in 2018 and holds a Master’s degree in Art. She also completed advanced training in piano performance and pedagogy under Professor Clara Bokuchava.
At MiFa, Samaneh focuses on building strong piano foundations while encouraging creativity, confidence, and expressive playing. Her international performance experience also brings valuable stage knowledge into her teaching.

Painting:: Sundays
Marjan Gol Azar is a painter and calligraphist with over 30 years of experience in visual arts.
She studied at Tehran Graphic Conservatory, where she earned her Master’s degree in Painting. She also received an advanced degree in Calligraphy from the Society of Iranian Calligraphers.
Marjan has presented her work in several exhibitions, including the Group Exhibitions of Iranian Women. At MiFa, she brings a strong artistic background, creativity, and a passion for helping students explore their own artistic ideas.

Technical Writer
Experienced with music performance and technical writing, Michael Streit contributes content to the MiFa website and the MiFa magazine. Through his work, he aims not only to provide interesting and useful information about music and music education but also to showcase the amazing students and teachers at our school, help tell their stories, and celebrate their many achievements.

Music Administration
Our admin is a wonderful support to the MiFa community. Coming from a family that is passionate about music, especially piano, she understands the value of music education and the care families need along the way.
She helps make sure communication, scheduling, registration, and daily details are handled smoothly, so students, parents, and teachers feel supported. Her kindness and organization play an important role in keeping MiFa running with care.
